Claire's Travels
Ok so firstly this picture doesnt actually go with the journal but this computer wont let me upload the photos so this will have to do for the minute.
So we arrived in the Cameron Highlands yesterday after a rather long and twisty bus journey up the mountains. We really noticed the temperature change. It felt a lot like England. We got picked up from the bus station by a guy who worked at Hill View Inn - so handy!
The people at Hill View Inn were so friendly and helpful. They got us booked onto a trip for the next day which saved us having to sort it out!
That evening we watched a few dvds (they had a huge collection!)
Today we got picked up at 9 and headed out on our tour. First stop was a flower centre (very similar to what we get at home but we had to pay to go in!) For some strange reason they have decided that giant figures of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a boot and a bird would be excellent objects to have in amongst the flowers.
Second stop was a insect farm. Must admit that im not a huge fan of creepy crawlies let alone giant versions of them. e.g. beetles, scorpions, snails etc. So that was quite interesting. I think our guide around the farm was a little crazy as we kept going off on a tangent!
Next stop was a strawberry farm - not hugely thrilling to walk around but the strawberries were amazing!!! I bought a big pallet for 70p. so much sweeter than the ones we get at home.
We then moved onto the BOH tea plantation which is the largest in the area. The owners are actually scottish. After finding out how tea is made we got to try some...unfortunately i'm not a huge fan of it.
It was a nice little tour though that took us around the main bits of the highlands...and it only cost 3.40 quid!
we are off to Penang this afternoon - an island off the west coast of malaysia...so speak to you all then!
