So we left at 7am to travel roughly 2 and a half hours to a place North of Bangkok called Kanchanaburi. Here we were going to be staying over night so we can do a 2 day trek/tour.
Day one:
We arrived at around 9.30am and went straight to a WW2 cemetery, which was pretty cool. then we haeaded to the WW@ museum. From here we crossed a bridge over the River Kwai (which was scarily high so i could only go half way) and then we got the Death Valley train. I must admit, Loz and I were scared of the train seeing as thought it was crazily old and had a steep drop at one poiint. It also wobbled as everyone ran to one side to take photos so loz and i decided we'd best stay put on the other side!!!
We then went to Sai Yok Noi Waterfall which was pretty beautiful and explored a cave. We then had to wait 2 hours to be picked up and so we almost fell asleep on a bamboo raft! We then were taken to our accomodation which was really nice, 3 double beds for us! Went to afloating house on the river for some food and one of the men on the tour got his guitar out and started playing. was cool.
Day 2: We woke up around 7.30am and went to the floating house again for breakfast. We then got a dodgy car to The Hellfire Pass Museum and then got to walk alittle bit of the old railway. Then the next bit was by far the best. We went el;ephant riding on an elephant called ohm. Was rather high, and mine and stephs (we were on together) man who was controlling it was laughing and taking us steep places. i also dropped my flip flop off the elephant which i was worried it was lost bt ohm picked it up with his trunk and gave it back to me bless him :) but was very very good and i recommend it!!!! We then went on a bamboo raft down the river befor ereturning to the floating house for some lunch and a bus back to Bangkok.
Off to Koh Tao tonight on a 14hr bus and ferry ride so will update later - looking forward to the relaxing beach after the hussle off Bangkok!!
