We got up early and hit the road on our way to Wanaka. We stopped off on the way at Lake Matheson and went on a little hike to see the mirror reflection of the Mt Cook and the Southern Alps in the Lake. It was absolutely stunning... I am in love with this place seriously!!!

We then crossed the bridge at Gates of Haast and headed up the pass to Mount aspiring National Park. The drive through to Wanaka is absolutely stunning, especially as we entered the Otago region and the stunning lakes district with the mountain ranges.We then passed Lake Wanaka and headed on through to Lake Hawea. We arrived at our hostel which was more like a hotel (was really nice). We checked in and then headed intot own for a quick shop before the girls headed back for a big group fish and chips. I wasn't hungry so didn't eat. We then chilled outside the hostel taking in the views, having a few drinks before going to bed earlyish ready for our drive through to Queenstown tomorrow. xxxxxxxxx
