We woke up again to more sodding rain so with nothing much to do we decided to do all our washing. With everything in the wash we did our food shoping for the next few days.
It had brightened up by the time we got back so we hung our washing out which obviously was the best way to ensure that we would have on and off rain for the rest of the afternoon.
We had a drive up to the light house on Cape Byron, this is the most Easterly point of Australia and also the most East we have ever been in our lives. It was fantastic as it is the time of the year for the humpback whales! They were quite far out, but close enough to see their tails and arms coming out of the water. It was then even more amazing as a perfect rainbow formed all over the ocean and the whales. Just what we wanted when our camera battery had just died. I t wasn't long before the stupid rain came back and forced us to return to the car and also force us to risk using the dryer at the campsite as the washing was now wetter than when it had come out of the machine.
Getting a bit fed up of this cold wet weather now so we plan to ger further up the coast tomorrow.
