Today we started our advanced open water diving course.
The first of our 2 dives today was our peak performance buoyancy which basically fine tuned how we float underwater, and move around with out sinking to o fast or going up too fast.
The second was the navigation, we were dreading this one a bit as we were so appalling back in Vietnam with the compass, but we managed it really well, we had to swim a perfect square over the coral and a few other exercises as well. Our next 2 dives on the course are going to be in a couple of days so we break it up a little.
After the diving, we had a few drinks in the dive shop bar where we met a touring American theatre group who are currently performing the sound of music in China but are on a break due to the earthquake over there. Anyway, a few drinks turned into a quite a lot of drinks and we had a really good night. They were all hilarious and you could tell that most of them belonged on stage. The night winded down and we treated to one of the locals playing his guitar for us which was just like listening to a CD - it was amazing!
