Rotorua
In rotorua we kept ourselves busy! One morning I went white water rafting which was incredible! Something I've never done before but was well worth it! Going down high speed rapids and going down 2 waterfalls, one of which is the highest waterfall you can raft off in the world! Was a great feeling and typically I fell out the boat at the biggest fall! The whole experience lasted a few hours and was definitely worthwhile! The day after we rented a car and went to waiotupu thermal wonderland where we saw lots of sulphur pools and mud pools and a geyser erupt which was pretty cool! Although the place smelt like rotten egg it was something different to see! All the colours and finding out about where they came from and what they do was decent! After the wonderland we went to north rotorua to check out great views of the lake! Then we travelled 150km round trip to whakatene to see a really nice city and beaches as recommended to me by someone I met in Australia who grew up there! We stayed in a hostel called crash palace which was a family run hostel which was much nicer and was more personal as they knew you by name and helped more with your stay! They had a hot tub so we jumped in there with a few beers most nights!
