Day 4 - Leaving Brussels for Amsterdam!
We woke up, got organised and headed to the train station. Brussels is lovely but quite boring (apart from that beer place) so we didn't really bother hanging about. We were also super excited to see Amsterdam. We got our baguettes (goodness knows how French people are skinny) and munch and jumped on the 3 hour train.
Exploring Amsterdam- We got to our youth hostel which is super central and got unpacked in our 18 bed mixed dorm. Proper travelling now! Now being honest, the whole city stinks of weed. Like you won't go 10 feet with out a whiff of it. Everyone here is just so chilled out, everyone drinks and smokes in the streets and everyone rides bikes. The driving in the city is wild but not as wild as Brussels.
So tonight we went to this awesome vegan falafel bar and had pitta full of all the salad and stuff you wanted. My idea of awesome street food. Becca then dragged me into a cheese shop where I had to hide my gagging when told to try a bit of cheese that had been sitting sweating in its own cheesy mingingness for 3 years. Abso boke!
Red Light District - On our wee walk about, we stumbled into the red light district which is totally mad. These semi nice looking young girls in tacky bikinis with horrendous belly tattoos and fake tans just wiggle their goodies at you. It's funny to start with until you realise that this is their actual job. Some have such sad eyes. It upset me a little. Every turn is a sex show, see shop or weed shop. It's mental! Haha! We got out onto the canal and found a pub and got a pint to digest all this madness then headed home.
Amsterdam is definitely an eye opener! Roll on tomorrow!
