Moving day today....
Up early as we have to check out of our house today and move to another place - the Sugarmill Hotel - for our last night tonight.
Brad is returning home today so we have to take him into Road Town this morning so he can catch a ferry to St Thomas before flying onto Miami and then LA
Tony and Heather are joining Lizzie and Brett and the rest of the remaining wedding guests on a private island here for a picnic lunch.
After Tony and Heather got picked up by Brett to go to their picnic I decided that since this was the first time I have been sober all week that I would drive our luggage over to the Sugar Mill hotel. After dropping off our luggage we returned to our house and had one final swim in the pool. We then said goodbye to the place that we have enjoyed so much this past week and set off on foot to walk back to the Sugar Mill.
We stopped along the way to have a bite of lunch and a couple of drinks at a place called Sebastian's on the beach and arrived at our new accommodation for tonight.
It is a nice cottage room with an outdoor shower and a mosquito net surrounding the poster bed - we are happy to see that!!!!
Nadeen and I have a bottle of Cruzan rum to knock over today and we have made a good start of it already.... Half a bottle gone already and it is not even time for dinner....
We had dinner at the Sugar Mill and enjoyed a very nice 3 course meal here as our last meal in Tortola. We bumped into Tim - Lizzie's brother - and his wife Vicky - small world indeed!
Tim and Lizzie called over to our room at the end of their meal to say goodbye to us and when we said our farewells Nadeen managed to lock ourselves out of our room!!!! Luckily a spare key was not far away.....
It has been a sensational week here and the 5 of us have had an absolute ball - lots of rum but more importantly lots of laughs and fun!!!!
Lizzie and Brett are to be congratulated for organising such a fantastic week for all of their guests. From the welcoming drinks and dinner on Sunday night, to the boat cruise on Monday, the actual wedding itself and in between making sure everyone was ok has been a huge effort on their part and we have been very fortunate to have been able to share it with both of them as well as their family and friends. We have met some wonderful people and I am sure we will catch up with some of them in the not too distant future.
We will all be sorry to leave this place they call Tortola.....but it is time to go home.
