An early start today as our taxi picked us up at 6.45am for our trip to the airport. We were both glad to arrive at the airport.....it would have to have been the oldest taxi we have ever been in and the road leading to the airport was very mountainous - we were both concerned we were not going to get there as the car kept back firing like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!!! We started early today and hit the subway to go to the Brooklyn Bridge. To fuel up for our walk we had a Belgian waffle for breakfast. The walk across the bridge is about 25 minutes one way and has some spectacular views of the City. Of all the people in this City who did we bump into on the bridge - Kevin, Maree, Anne and Geoff!!! Happy Thanksgiving Day!!! We went to the Macy's Day Parade today - wow - what an experience!!! We have never seen so many people in one place.... Despite the crowd it was a great experience. The floats were amazing and they just kept coming - truly a great way to enjoy and appreciate what Thanksgiving Day means over here. Started today with a quick shop at Macy's for some make up for Nadeen. Following Macy's we went to the Empire State Building and saw some stunning views of New York. We then went to Maddison Square Garden and Penn Station where we had some lunch. After lunch we caught the subway to the American National History Museum which has an amazing collection!!! We played "tourist" today. After breakfast we picked up our clothes from the tailor and headed to the subway... Easy as could be. We each purchased a metro card, put $10 on each card and away we went. The subway is fairly easy to follow as each line is either numbered or color coded so you just work out what line you want and away you go.....although I must admit the subway is not as good as the London Underground but still good.
