An early start today as our taxi picked us up at 6.45am for our trip to the airport. We were both glad to arrive at the airport.....it would have to have been the oldest taxi we have ever been in and the road leading to the airport was very mountainous - we were both concerned we were not going to get there as the car kept back firing like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!!! Not to worry we arrived in one piece eventually and proceeded to check in our luggage,go through customs - where Nadeen got "searched" twice and onto the plane we got. Even though our bags were checked all the way back to Melbourne we still had to retrieve our bags in San Juan, go through customs, pick up our bags and go through another security check before boarding our connecting flight to Miami. It certainly filled in the time and we only had 10 minutes to wait in San Juan before boarding our flight to Miami. The flight from San Juan to Miami had fantastic views as below you could see all of the islands of the Bahamas and water below was all crystal clear, turquoise - the contrast of the water and the islands was stunning. Arrived in Miami on time where we have about a 3 hour stop over before flying to LA then home. We decided to shout ourselves a one day pass into the Admirals Club - which is the equivalent of the Qantas Club back home -it is less crowded here oh and did I mention they serve free drinks.... Just what we need!!! I hope we make our connecting flights!!!!
Have landed in LA after a 5 hour flight from Miami - so far so good with all of our connections...only one to go.
We are currently sitting in the Qantas Club as we have a 4 hour stop over here before our flight back to Melbourne.
All is looking well for a scheduled departure time so it looks like we have been very lucky will all of our connections - touch wood- we still have an hour and a half to go before we take off.... We are now sitting in the departure gate waiting to board.
It was a logistical exercise finding our way to the correct gate lounge!
We are both starting to feel the effects of our 3 flights already but we will push on through the pain barrier.....only 15 hours of flying time left.....
