Hello again all,
Well after a long and slightly stressful coach ride, crossing the borders between Cambodia and Vietnam we finally got to a very flooded Saigon.
After attempting to dodge the rain and flooded streets,Laura found a shelter for us to cower under whilst we waited for a taxi whilst I waded through the water barefoot, lightly jogging trying to locate the nearest ATM.We've discovered buearu du change are difficult to come across and were unable to obtain Vietnamese Dong in Cambodia!
Luckily,we'd identified a hotel in our trusty guidebook that ticked all our boxes, so once we got ourselves a taxi made our way there.
The hotel was a simple, family run hotel that we later found out wasn't in the best location.Saigons quite a big city.
Hungry & still jaded from our mammoth bus trip, soon as we checked in,dumped our rucksacks and rested for an hour before venturing out for dinner.
The rain by now slightly spitting but the streets still wet.We hopscotched the puddles and dodged the insanely busy scooter laden streets towards a local restaurant.
Wow,we got some looks.Sure the two little boys sat adjacent to us thought I was a giant.
After the long journey our excuse for not having something Vietnamese was that we required hot, comfort food.
Laura had the beef fillet mignon (which for hours she banged on relentlessly how good it was!) and I went for Venison, which was ace and just what we needed.both for $4.yep!
