Day 4 Mal

Today we took a sunset cruise on a small private boat with just 6 people. it was a delightful afternoon and the three crew members looked after us very well. Snacks included and drinks for the duration including the famous Caiparinhas, Brazil's national cocktail, which is very nice. We saw forts as you will see from the photos in the sea. Similar to our solent forts in Portsmouth, although these are disused. We also saw the military area from the beach where all the training takes place. We stopped off for the obligatory swim and then headed back, where we stopped just by the domestic airport with a tiny runway, so small when the planes took off over our boat they were directly overhead. The engine jets were very noisy. It was amazing and we watched a few before heading back into the sunset. At this point we saw Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf mountain as the sun actually set. An amazing trip with great company.

An early dinner then off to bed for th 5.20 am alarm !!!!!!!!! for tomorrow's trip.
