Days 32-35 - Chris - We returned to Rio to spend the last few nights of the holiday - mainly for the carnival. The hotel that we stayed in wasn't great, to be polite, but it served as a base. We spent the first day back trying to sleep in as late as possible in preparation for being out all night on Monday the 24th. Days 28 to 32 - Mal - On the 19th of February we arrived in dock in the evening in Buenos Aires. Spent the evening on board the following day got off and went to our hotel. Chris booked this particular hotel as it overlooked the graveyard where Eva Peron is buried. It was a lovely little area surrounded by fabulous little bars and restaurants and a large shopping Mall. Day 27 - Mal - Today we took a city tour trip. Saw the palace. Overall not a very interesting day. However, when we were dropped off near the port, the market was good with many eating places. In particular the indoor area for eating was very interesting and full of indoor barbecue type meals. Many choices. Had a lovely meal before rejoining the ship. See photos. Day 25 - Chris - After a day at sea yesterday we had booked full day trip to the welsh settlement at Gaiman in Patagonia. Welsh settlers landed in this area in the mid 19th century, having been promised land and help by the Argentinian government. Day 23 - Chris - Whilst at sea yesterday the captain warned that we should not be optimistic about being able to disembark at Port Stanley as gale force winds were expected in the afternoon. When we opened the curtains all seemed pretty calm and we were glad to see the tenders were running. We got onto a tender at approx 8.50am as we had booked a 9.00 am walking tour.
