Day 8 - Chris
Today were were picked up at our hotel for a half day 'small group' tour of the Brazil side of the falls. We were collected by our guide, Antonio and our driver, in a minibus. Although the small group tour could be up to 10 people, we only picked up 2 more. These were a Chinese couple who couldn't go to Argentina due to not having a visa.
From the Brazil side, you are mostly looking at a panorama of the Argentine falls - 80% of the falls are on the Argentine side due to where the border falls. The views certainly lived up to our expectations and we had a great morning.
We then caught a taxi to Argentina, stopping at the border to get our passports stamped. The taxi cost 17 pounds. Having checked in, we ate lunch at the hotel pool bar as we had not been able to obtain any Argentinan currency and we were able to charge the food to our room. The pool area is very nice.
Needing cash we walked about three quarters of a mile to the nearest ATM. We have no mobile data and hadn't taken with us a note of the exchange rate. Knowing that were were going to be in Argentina for 6 or 7 days in total, we thought we would try to get enough cash to last us. Got back to the hotel and found we only had 25 pounds worth. Back to the ATM! Found a nice restaurant bar that had live music, so a great day overall.
