Day 24 ... Travelled from Salzburg to Munich with Hannah to meet up with Eve, the American girl we'd met in Bratislava. Explored the town in the afternoon, had dinner, then went to Hofbrauhous, Munichs oldest beer hall/beer garden. Beer served by the liter!

Day 7 ... Visited the worlds largest model railway (geeky I know), the Dali exhibition, and then the Computer Game Museum. Tried Currywurst! Day was really good until now ... I miss Croydon.

Day 6... A light continental breakfast, followed by Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall monument. Very interesting piecing together and understanding the relationship between WWI and WWII, Vietnam, the Soviet state, the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Found an Irish Pub to watch the football and found myself siting with a Palace fan! Sightseeing in the late afternoon/evening... The Reichstag, The Brandenburg Gate, walked down Unter Der Linde...

Day 5... went to Alexanderplatz this morning. Market with street performers. Made reservation for onward journey to Krakow in Poland for Tuesday 9th. Olympiastadion in the afternoon. Beautiful stadium hosted the Olympics and the 2006 World Cup Final (Zidane, Materazzi et al). Hertha Berlin v Nurnburg... not a great match, Hertha lost 0-1... amazing atmosphere. First day of the new season and Hertha's first game back in the Bundesliga. Met a Israeli called Yuval, ...

Day 4 ... 8 hour train journey from Amsterdam to Berlin. First impressions of Berlin? (in the dark) ... more like London than Amsterdam. A lot, lot bigger. Less english translations on signs, trams etc... think I had it too easy in Amsterdam! Less bikes too! On this journey I was mainly listening to ...
