Day 37 ... Last day. Pretty much spent the entire day on the beach... and why not! Up at 6am tomorrow to embark on my 36-hour journey home!

Day 36... Long walk, followed the coastline from the port, round the 'sticky-out-bit' and got to old town about 7pm. Chilled out on this beach. Went for a swim. Found a bar showing the England game. Walked back to hostel. Lots of walking today.

Day 35 ... Walked to the old town (which is situated in the grounds of an old fort it seems). All the shops are within the castle walls... pretty cool. Really hot but breezy due to being by the sea so it's about right. Swam in the sea. Did some sun-bathing. Got a bit burnt. Found a cliff-top bar to watch the sea go by for a while. Time seems inconsequential here. Although the main source of income us clearly tourism, Dubrovnik had managed to remain quite un-touri...

Day 34 ... Flew from Zagreb to Dubrovnik in the morning. Took a walk round town. Really hot. Pretty uneventful afternoon, just chilled out. Room was a view from the hills that overlooks the harbour. Dubrovnik is beautiful. Advertised as 'the Mediterranean... the way it once was'... I hope this is true.

Day 33 ... One night in Zagreb en route to Dubrovnik. Really hot afternoon followed by cooler evening. Been noticing many brown leaves on the ground over the last week... autumn is coming. Walked round the town. Big town square. Don't have to walk far until you reach an open green area, much different from Belgrade and Sarajevo. All the late-night bars seem to be on one long stretch... pretty cool. Makes everywhere else in the city less than half-full though.
