Managed to get as far as moose jaw for the night. Terrible rainy, wet, slippery roads. Became too dangerous to keep going. So why not beautiful, happening moose jaw.
God, what an awful city. Like seriously. The people had no idea what was going on with anything, or everything. Could never get a straight answer or the right order. So we got a quick pint at the local brew pub chiller's which looked like a curling rink and a funeral home had a baby, got an amber beer when I asked for a blonde, and camped for the night at the walmart parking lot.
To our surprise (but not fully surprised) the trailer had leaked water on all our belonging and bed. And was still leaking. What to do?
So we tarped the top of the trailer, bought xl boys pjs at walmart (they were cheaper), plugged a hole with a flashlight, and hung a garbage bag over the bed to deflect the water.
In the end, those kid pjs were super warm and dry and we were exhausted. It was a great sleep and we woke up this morning rested and ready to drive ( and possibly cavity searched) to the border and onwards.
No more cell service so updates will be less often.
