Gentle day - children didn't wake until 8.30 so out went an early start. Everyone down the laundry for 2 hours - so cheap 25c for 10 minutes of drying and $2.75 for a wash. Only takes 35 mins for a wash - how come domestic washers take 2 hours or more? CT came back with a US military style crew cut from the barbers and LM wheeled the laundry baskets around the narrow room bashing into everything.

Back on the bus up to SFMOMA - Museum of modern art to look at Jackson Pollack, Matisse, Warhol etc. Very enjoyable trying to work out the symbolism. Froze on the corner of a street drying nasty coffee and nice citrus cake and headed off to the Mission district - which is a bit edgy - bit bohemiam. It was! Spent 30 minutes or so browsing a book shop - which was just how book shops should be - ony one of each book, old mixed in with new - every subject under the sun. We all got a book, I bought Time magazine - looks like I've switched from the times to time!

A lot of coverage about Sarah Palin here - is she a witch or a wizard, very interesting debate, no-one has commented that she has completely stolen H Clintons thunder - first woman etc.
