Hi everyone

We've found a great internet cafe so time to update you again on our adventures. After mombasa we flew on to Johannesburg for a short visit, taking a tour of Soweto, learning more about the uprisings in the townships during the 70s.

Now in sunny Cape Town even though it's winter! Been up Table Mountain today and walked for about 3 hours - we've earned our dinner! Probably for the first time! By the way, for those interested, we never made it to the gym but did play a game of table tennis if that counts?!?!

Yesterday was the most beautiful sunny day so we drove to Cape Point via Boulders Beach. This isn't just any beach, it's full of penguins! Chris had to drag Kate away from taking too many photos! (They're so gorgeous!!) Cape Point was spectacular and we enjoyed a lovely meal overlooking mountain ranges.

We met up with Rachel Allen for dinner and caught up on her news. Sadly we've heard today that there are riots in Lwandle township where she works and between 4 and 10,000 people are displaced.

Hoping to go to Robben Island tomorrow and check out some of the wine farms later in the week :)

Had a funny experience driving to Cape Point - Baboons running up the road towards us!!

We're missing you all and can't wait to catch up with you when we're back.
