hello everyone, We arrived in LP last night after the amazing boat trip down the Mekong River. We upped our budget for guest houses last night as i demanded hot water (no shower for 3 days....) so we found somewhere lovely for a whopping $6 a night! After freshening up we set off to explore the town. It probably the nicest place we have visited yet, stunning views of the river, beautiful narrow streets lined with flowers and of course the temples. The town has a old french feel to it, we can't walk far without getting a baguette offered to us! We wandered the market for a while and ate here too, very traveller-esque of us! Of course we now needed beer lao, as we had been about a day without one, so we ventured to the bar and ended up chatting with many of the guys from the boat. Very nice place so far. Tomorrow we plan on getting an elephant to the waterfall (they're like buses!) for some swimming, and Chris wants to do some kayaking. Luckily they're 2 man kayaks, so i can sit behind and pretend to paddle!
