We landed in Melbourne around 4pm and were met by Brid's relative Deirdre who luckily Brid recognised. We headed back to their house in Ascot Vale in Melbourne. We were pretty glad to finally be back in a house after living in hostel for the last 6 months, we finally had a decent bed to sleep in as well. We just stayed up for a while chatting to their other house guest Mathew whose their daughters boyfriends brother who is working down in Melbourne for a couple of months. The weather wasn't all I'd been hoping for, it was quite cloudy so we didn't break out the sun tan lotion yet.

Brid didn't really keep her diary going for much that we did in Melbourne so I cant remember most of it, we had originally only planned to stay about a week but we were enjoying staying in a house to much we couldn't be bothered leaving. Spent heaps of time lazing about watching TV and eating, wandering around the city heaps and just generally doing nothing.

We wanted to head up to Adelaide and drive back along the great ocean road so we started looking for a cheapo car hire. We managed to get a flight and a car hire back from Adelaide for next to nothing, we decided to leave ourselves about 4 days to get back.
