Hoped over the Paraguay border without much problems, met some loud annoying English people on the bus, one of which had decided he could speak Spanish just by speaking English in a dodgy Spanish accent. Also a really annoying couple spent 20hrs eating each other faces, obviously they were training for the face eating Olympics which all south American couples seem to be training for.Jumped in a taxi to our hostel and the first thing we noticed was the price of the taxi, they were a total rip off, especially when everything else seemed to be priced normally, the hostel only had a twin room so we settled for that for the first night, at that point I would have slept in a cardboard box on the street I was so tired. Had a mucho needed shower and had a wander round the city, its a really nice city and it pretty clean, had an early night, Brid set a new record for sleeping, she slept for 6 in the afternoon till 10 in the morning, she could get a job for vetco.
Next day we headed to some off the shopping centres around town, electronics are all really expensive here, I thought they'd be really cheap. Walked to the other shopping centre to find an English book store that was in one of the guide books. If you ever want to make a fortune open an English book store in Asuncion, books marked on the cover as 5pounds were selling for 4times the price, thieves!!Headed back to the hostel and had some dinner, not really a lot of restaurants in Asuncion for the size of it so we ended up going to the same one as the night before.
Next day we booked our tickets for Cuidad Del Este, described in the footprints as the shopping centre of Latin America, its also on the border beside Iguazu Falls, we decided to stay one night there to check out the markets and stuff.
