After my exam on Wednesday, I hopped on a train to Paris to spend three days with Alex.. On Wednesday, I arrived at the train station. There, we bumped into our friend from Grenoble, Shannon, and her older brother. We talked with them for a while, and then Alex and I walked to the hotel.
Unfortunately, it was really rainy and cold all weekend, so we were limited to the things we could do. We had wanted to spend time outside and have picnics, but the weather did not cooperate. But we still managed to eat very well!
In the spirit of it being Alex's last days in France, we enjoyed French cuisine for our meals. On Wednesday night, we had cheese fondue, which was absolutely delicious.
Thursday brought more rain, but we braved the weather and headed to Notre Dame. It was my third time in Paris, and I still hadn't been in. The bell towers had a short line, so we started there. It was cool to walk so high up on cathedral and the views were great. We were going to go inside the main cathedral, but there was a huge line and the weather was getting worse. (So I will definitely need to go inside when I'm back in Paris with Mom and Jamie)
Later on, we ventured out to Montmartre and enjoyed a very nice French meal. I had escargot and confit de canard, while Alex enjoyed foie gras and malgre de canard. For dessert, I of course had crème brulee!
Overall a great little visit to Paris!
