Day 4

Great Wall of China! we eventually made it to one of the 8th wonders of the world! Heading off at the crack of dawn and in hair-raising Beijing traffic and an excuse for a minibus that kept on breaking down every 5 minutes its a wonder we made it at all!

What a climb, we made it past 2 and a half towers and then just sat on the wall for about an hour taking in the views and the wall for as far as the eye could see!! pretty cool I must say! In the evening we headed back to the hostel and just chilled after our climb!

Day 5

Our last day in Beijing today. We had breakfast at the hostel, Sven ordered cornflakes which he was served without milk and a steak knife and fork to eat it with! eventually he got a spoon and some milk! After this we hopped on a local bus to visit the 'Temple of Heaven' where the emperors used to come and pray for the harvests. After this we went to the zoo and saw the cutest panda bears munching on their bamboo! This evening we went to a Chinese acrobat show which was amazing! we got front row tickets and the show included everything from acrobats to 5 mad chinese men on motorbikes riding their bikes at full speed inside a cirucular metal cage - mad! We ended off the evening with dumplings Im glad to say I am now a master with chopsticks!!

Tomorrow we fly to Bangkok and to warmer weather - yeehaa! Staying just off the famous Kho San Road so can't wait to try the local Pad Thai yummy!
