This morning we met at 6 for a 3hour bus journey (on the worlds most pot-holed and stone covered dirt track!) to The Last Resort which is on a ridge right above the Bhote Kosi River. To reach the resort you must walk across a 160m suspension bridge which is used for bungee jumps! It looked absolutely terrifying, our legs went to jelly just walking over it! We stayed in 2man deluxe safari tents which were really comfy and the low level seating bar and the restaurant had a chilled atmosphere.
On day one Brad went canyoning (a mix of abseiling, climbing, jumping and swimming through canyons and waterfalls) He really enjoyed it but thought it was hard work at times! Chelsea meanwhile spent the day at the pool reading her book! Somethings never change!!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner was included all week and was really good. It was so nice to have steamed veggies with no bloody spices!
Tuesday and Wednesday we just hung out in the garden and the bar chatting to the people arriving for all different activities.
Thursday morning at around 10, Chelsea threw herself off that bridge that make her go weak at the knees! She looked fierce! She said she felt like superwoman! And we have the video evidence which will hopefully be on the website in a few days time! We spent the rest of the day learning the basics of rafting on some grade II & III rivers with our group (us 2, maddi, Sam, Rich and Jerome) It was so much fun! We had a great laugh and couldn't wait for the hard stuff on Friday! As always we spent the evening in the bar!
Friday morning we set off for about 1hr drive to our rafts. There were around 35 of us this time but we managed to keep the same group (we had our rowing down to a fine art!!) We spent about 4/5 hours tackling up to grade V+ rapids and it was fatastic! We had to jump out and walk a little way as sadly a bus had crashed into the river from the road about 50m above. We were told around 50 people died only one survived. At the very last part of the rafting, Maddie and Jerome fell in and had to swim a little way before Brad saved the day and pulled them up onto the raft. I was more scared than they were, I kept thinking they would go under the raft or hit the rocks! All in all we had a fab week and would definately recommend the Last Resort to anyone who wants to do some adventure activities or just chill out in their gardens and pool.
