For the first time on our trip it was overcast this morning, which meant it was ridiculously cold for our trek. Thankfully it was one of our shorter walks and being so cold people walked a lot quicker! Arrived at our lodge by 1pm and the only hiccup was a nervous pass that was covered in ice and had a 30m drop a few inches away! Took my time and I'm still alive!
As we are getting so high now it's more important to do acclimatisation treks, so as we arrived early we decided to break the 5000m barrier, climbing to 5004m. The weather was still very poor and it took some all fours climbing but the view of the Khumbu Glacier was worth it!
Everest Base Camp tomorrow, so so so excited just hope the weather clears up, it makes such a difference this high up!
It's been a week with the group now and I'm loving it! There are some really genuine people and would happily share a pint with any of them once this trip is over! ...Or maybe a cheaky one or two before!
I'm starting to feel like the groups medic as people are getting ill with colds, soar throats and headaches they are asking me what to do or take! I'm not complaining though, makes me feel important! See I did learn something at work!
Not feeling so clever after those squats yesterday though, aching loads!
