Day 3

Our last day in Dubai and with nothing pre-booked we decided to spend the morning by the rooftop pool for a few hours in 39 degrees sun! Plenty of swimming in the pool needed to cool off. Having only booked to stay in this hotel for 3 nights we needed to check out by 12 and grab the metro to our next hotel located closer to the airport - arriving at 1.30pm and feeling rather tired from lugging our backpacks across the city!

Luckily we ended up in another luxury hotel - with a professional football team checking in behind us! We chilled for a couple of hrs in our room after finding a cosy dressing gown and slippers. Not long after we arrived we were offered some complimentary fruit from a kind hotel member at our door which went down very nicely as a mid afternoon snack! After a nosy around the hotel - finding a health club, spa, swimming pool, jacuzzi, shisha lounge, and pool side bar we decided to jump back on the metro back to Dubai mall to do some more window shopping, have dinner and watch the fountain show. The mall is crazily big, and after a couple visits we still haven't managed to look around it all!! After dinner the sun had disappeared, setting the scene for a nicely illuminated fountain display set against the Burj Khalifa which was equally as stunning in the evening.

Needing an early night we decided to come back to the hotel on the metro - however, finding out that pretty much everyone had to the same idea! After failing to get on two metros due to the amount of people already on, we managed to squeeze on the third one 30mins after leaving the mall! However, did feel like sardines in a tin! Despite the sticky, stuffy ride back to the hotel we were very pleased to arrive in our air conditioned room and enormous bed!

After a final pack of the backpacks we went up to the rooftop for a quick drink in the shisha lounge before heading to bed ready for our transfer to the airport at 7am ready for our flight to Durban.
