This evening I arrived in Airlie Beach. It's a pretty small town,with one main street and then a small beach,a lagoon and a marina. It is apparently generally used just as a starting point for tours around the Whitsunday Islands,which is exactly what I plan to do tomorrow! Busy day today and an early start. At 8am we boarded the Compass cruise boat and set sail for the Outer Great Barrier reef.the journey took about 2hours,but was happily filled with talks on the reef,on snorkelling and scuba diving,and lazing in the sun on deck. Last day in Melbourne!!! today we went to the Queen Victoria market,which is a huge market with clothes,gifts,crafts,fresh fruit and veg,meats,cheese,olives,dips.we spent the morning browsing through the stalls and then had a delicious lunch of fresh bread,chesse,salami,tomatoes and olives... =) this afternoon Michelle and I drove to Chadstone-Melbourne's biggest shopping centre,to look round for a little while.
