So, here I am...Thailand. Possibly one of the most overwhelming experiences of my life so far! After an 11 hour flight we turned up at the airport with just a backpack to our name! There were people throwing themselves at us to offer their help and to book us into hotels or give us taxis. We eventually got ourselves a hotel sorted out and a taxi to it (I still can't beleve how cheap it all is)!

There are no words that can describe the feeling of walking out of that airport and into the heat. It sort of hits you and takes your breath away. So far I have really enjoyed the food (although I did not eat the deep fried lotus that are on sale on one of the various street markets)! We walked down the Khao San Road (the main tourist area) and it is so incredibly busy. There are hundreds of stalls lining the streets and the smell is amazing. There are lots of bars offering the 2-for-1 buckets but we're both feeling pretty exhausted from the flight so we are planning on heading back in a little bit and getting up early to go and visit the grand palace and a few of the other tempes around Bangkok.
