Singapore in 24 hours! We stayed here waiting for our connecting flight to Australia. We arrived quite late at night and spent the night looking around for the hotel that invented the Singapore Sling cocktail. We went to the marina and saw all the big tall buildings all around. It was a pretty cool place by night as the lights all reflected off the water and it looked very pretty. We finally found the famous cocktail hotel, Raffles. It looked pretty grand and was really impressive but it looked closed and we had just walked around for two hours trying to find it. We decided to go home to sleep and awoke the next day feeling groggy but looking forward to wondering around yet another country (3 in 3 days).
We managed to find the Raffles hotel again but easier this time. It was amazing there inside and we quickly got ourselves a seat and ordered ourselves the famous Singapore Sling at the price of 10GBP. It was nice and we were pleased with ourselves (this may have been the effect of the alcohol in the raging heat). Barry bought a souvenir glass and we were on our way, good stuff. Singapore looked better with sling goggles!
Now there wasn't really much to see apart from a lot of shopping centres and selling extremely expensive things. There were hundreds of designer shops, at least 7 Chanels were spotted. On a budget this is not something you want to go and look at. We decided to go for a little bit of culture and go to Little India for a look around. We didn't really find too much here and we needed to get back to our hotel for our flights. So off we trekked and headed to the airport for another 5 hour flight!
