Week 11- Laos (Vientiane) Day 2

We had a lazy Sunday today and stayed in our pjs for the majority of the day :) we got up and had some breakfast, brushed our teeth then headed for cinema room to watch a film. Another girl (Lucy) joined us and it turned out she was from chingford! Small world. We watched a film and me and Charlotte were looking things up as well. After the film we had some lunch at the hostel I had spag Bol and char had carbonara, probably the best pasta dishes we have eaten since travelling! It's rare in Asia to find a nice spag Bol! Again the heavens opened through out the day but it had seemed to stop just in time for us to head to the market for some shopping and dinner. We had a wander down the market, I picked up a magnet. Then we went to find somewhere for dinner. We ate in a Laos restaurant that looked quite busy, we ordered a few dishes to share, one if which was crackled pork was soo nice! Charlotte really fancied a pancake for dessert from one of the food stalls. So on the walk back we decided to pick one up just as the wind picked up again (we knew what that meant). All the people on the stalls were rushing to pack their stuff away and people were coming out of the market to find cover. Me and Charlotte were waiting for our pancake as the heavens opened! A bit of rain doesn't bother us Brits! We shared a banana pancake, it was worth getting wet for too! We ate it under cover before we walked back.

By the time we got back we were drenched! We chucked our pjs back on and jumped into bed! Chilled out in the room listening to music and doing some more planning before heading to bed ready for Phuket tomorrow :)
