Week 11- Thailand (Phuket Island) Day 3

Today we were leaving Lao and heading to the Thai Islands. We are hoping that the sun is going to shine and we aren't going to get too much rain! We had breakfast at the hostel before getting into the tuk tuk to the airport, it was really close by which was handy. We can't believe we are already making our way down to our last few destinations in Asia! Sad times, although, we are very excited for Australia.

We checked in our bags and headed straight up to the departure lounge. For some reason (which we still don't really know why) we got given entry tickets for the VIP departure lounge.. We wish we hadn't eaten breakfast! There was a huge buffet of free food from quiches to cakes. Obviously we found more room and had our second breakfast of the day ;-)

The flight went really smoothly and we rechecked in for our second flight really quickly. We were sat back in a departure lounge by 1pm and our flight wasn't until 8pm so it was a long old wait. We still hadn't made a decision about Malaysia so we decided to go for it and book flights to Bali. We are both ecstatic about going here and decided we may as well take the opportunity while it only cost us an extra £100. We also found another complimentary area (fat girls) so we didn't go hungry today!

The flight to Phuket was really quick, however, we can't say the same for the shuttle bus to Patong. It was an absolute nightmare.. They wouldn't leave until there was 10 people going to the same place yet there was only 4 of us for ages. We sat waiting for more planes to arrive in. You can imagine this is the last thing we wanted to be doing after a long day of travelling. The shuttle itself took about 45 minutes and stopped half way to clearly try and sell us excursions... (This nearly sent me over the edge). As always we were the last to be dropped off and the driver couldn't find out hostel. At one point he nearly chucked us out in a random place trying to act like it was our accommodation! Nice try mate. Once we finally arrived we were pleased to see the place was really nice and more like a hotel. We had quick showers then it was straight to sleep seeing as it was past midnight by now.
