Leg 2:
Landed in Newman on thursday night and went over to Caz's (A friend from my time over in Canada) house. Went out for dinner and a few drinks with Caz. Karis (Couchsurfer I stayed with when I first got to Geraldton last time) and one of Caz's friends met us out for a drink.
Karis and I headed out of Geraldton in the morning picking up three german Backpackers from the side of the road on the way through.
With the backpackers tightly squeezed into the back seat we headed up to Kalbarri.
Spent the night in Kalbarri chilling out and having a few drinks just Karis and myslef.
Saturday morning Kirsty (Karis' housemate) drove up and met us in Kalbarri. We all headed out to Kalbarri National park and walked the main loop through the park. Kirsty walked ahead and ended up starting the loop again without realising it, so when Karis and I got back to the cars we had no idea where she had gone and thought she had gotten herself lost. We sat around waiting for her for a while and then as we were walking back into the gorge to try and find her she was walking back up to the car.
We all headed out of Kalbarri (along a very corrugated dirt road) and drove up to Denham. Spent saturday afternoon relaxing in Denham not doing alot.
Sunday morning we drove up to Monkey Mia to watch the dolphin feedings, went for a bit of a snorkle and sat around in the bar for a bit.
Drove back to Denham (Where we were staying), Kirsty went for a nap while Karis and I went fishing off the jetty. Caught plenty of fish (That were all about 10cm long) until one of the fiching boats took pity on us and threw us one of their runts (Still about 40cm long). It was pretty funny gutting and scalling this fish while everyone else had fish that were at least 1m long and probably about 30kg each. Went back to the hostel and cooked up the fish.
Monday morning Karis and Kirsty headed back to Geraldton and I headed north.
Spent monday night at a remote little campsite near a surf break (That was not breaking at all). The night was so nice I dragged my matteress out of the car and slept on the roof rack.
Woke up Tuesday morning and went for a quick surf (Not alot of swell) before heading back onto the highway and up to Exmouth.
Pulled into a backpackers in Exmouth and went for a quick surf then had dinner at the pub and a few drinks with the people staying in my room.
Wednesday morning I headed out for a morning surf before checking out of the hostel and driving down to the airport. I left my car in the airport as it is a tiny airport so parking is free, and flew back to work....
