First off sorry about the photos, computer really slow...more to follow, it gets better, we promise!!
Flight was class, lots of freebies which we took full advantage of. Food was great, even got hot chocolate with marshmallows! Didnt take us long on arrival to almost lose Vicky, we really have to get that girl a lead! Airport was gorgeous with loads of "long live the king" banners evrywhere. Traffic was manic on way to hotel, the green man means nothing here! Survival this far has been a miracle, ducking and diving through the traffic. Tuk-tuks are immense, like fair-ground rides (fotos to follow).
When we plucked up the courage to venture out of the hotel, we ended up in a seafood restaurant in the middle of nowhere! Thankfully there was chicken on the meni, but caught up in the moment we ordered a crab, spending half our budget. Its ghost has haunted us ever since...
Next day was a lot better, we went shopping on khao san road where we met the fabulous Mr. Wichai, a police man, just one of the really friendly locals. We went on a tour on the canal and saw all the temples and the floating market. Headed out that night for some entertainment with adifference. Not a lot of ping-pongs involved...still, twas an experience!
Next day we attempted to visit the grand palace, we barely made it inside the gates when we were chucked out for inappropriate dress (apart from vicky and her cape...)! We still managed some expert photography and got a coconut with a straw to drink and consoled ourselves as we made our retreat with our tail between our legs. Back to the sanctuary of Khao san road where more shopping was done. Heading for a few drinks tonight but early start in the morning as we leave at 5am for Cambodia.....hopefully.
Thats all for now, keep an eye on the fotos (just buildings for now, we r too pale and mingin at the moment but give us a few weeks)
love u all x x x
