Cestria Galaxy u16 v Man City

The girls played their penultimate game in the league today against top side Man City who are looking to finish runners up in the league.

In wet conditions both teams contributed to a high quality game. Cestria were on top for most of the game but only had 1 goal to show for it at half time with Beth Hepple smashing a free kick in from 25 yards.

Cestria 1:0 Man City

The second half followed the same pattern with Cestria continuously knocking on the door, with Beth Jennings and Beth Hepple forcing good saves from the impressive City keeper.
1-0 is always a precarious lead and City could well have equalised after being clean through with only the keeper to beat but for a great save from stand in keeper Maddie Wood.
After various subs and formation changes City equalised with 2 minutes to go after the impressive number 9 let loose from 30 yards for a great goal going in off the bar.
