Hello!

Our next stop was Airlie Beach which wasn't a very exciting town, but there was a nice lagoon that we chilled out at for a couple of days, soaking up the sun and a very cheap 4 hour long happy hour at the hostel! :P

The main reason for our stop was to go to the Whitsundays on a sail boat!! Our boat was called the Boomerang and only had 26 people on board but we had a great time. There were only 3 crew for alll of us but they made the trip. Our deckhand Max (been on the sea all his life so a bit loopy hehe) got everyone involved in the sailing including hoisting the sail and in some lucky peoples case (guess who) got them driving the boat too! Cerys was actually very good at it, stayed in a straight line (though this could have been because Max told her to crash into a boat in front :P).

We had three days and two nights on the water. We got to snorkel around some of the reefs on the first and second day though no nemos unfortuantly :( or dory's!! The water was nice and warm too. We also went to the famous Whitehaven Beach which has the whitest sand in the world (99% silica) and we spent the whole afternoon there building human pyramids and jumping lines.

The weather was amazing the whole trip which meant both nights we had really clear stars and me and Cerys lay on the deck watching the stars for an hour. Everyone on our boat were really friendly and a lot of goon (ask the backpackers) was drunk along with the game s***head (the loser had to wear the s***head life jacket for the rest of the evening.... i lost!)

The whole trip was amazing...except for my foot. Unfortuantly because the waters so warm, I managed to get an infection on my foot much to our annoyance. Cerys wanted to just chop it off! However it's all healed now after being an invalid for 4 days.

When we got back to Airlie we had the Boomerang after party!! Everyone from the boat met up at Beaches bar and we got free jugs of beer (tastes better when its free hehe). We stayed one more night at Airlie before heading up to Magnetic Island the next morning.
