G'day
Next stop was Agnes Water and the town of 1770.
We stayed at a really nice hostel called Southern Cross which was 16 acres, had its own lake and felt more like a type of australian camp.
We went on a trip to Lady Musgrave island the first day we were there and it was a very bumpy boat ride for an hour and 30 mins out, and cerys managed to be sick for the first hour and 29 mins out, hehe.
When we were finally in the lagoon, she had a huge smile on her face! Though then one of the crew picked her to go and stand on a platform in the sea and threw fish food at her feet, of course she was squealing, even more so when he told her to stand still as some of the fish could sting her. Everyone had a good old laugh at her( inc all the staff). We went on a tour of the island where we managed to sneak a spirally shell and coral hehe and then we went on the glass bottomed boat in a semi submarine and eat lunch (By which time Cerys had recovered and was back to normal) before getting the chance to snorkel ourselves around the reef. There was a huge area we got to look at which included seeing loads of different fish and swimming with turtles that we swear looked exactly like Crush and Squirt from Nemo haha. Conditions were much calmer on the way home and Cerys managed to sleep the whole way back :).
Next day we had a lazy morning before going out on a scooter roo tour of 1770 at 2:30. The Scooter Roo was a trip on which you got to ride your own mini chopper motorbike (all automatic so just like a bicycle, and don't worry we all had to wear massive helmets and flaming leather jackets). We got a great view of 1770 and saw some kangaroos all whilst travelling at times at 50mph!! The trip finished by watching the sunset on some rocks at the beach and eating some very delicious wedges and sour cream, mmmm!! By the end we were all proper bikies, and some of us (Cerys) were even getting a bit of road rage and overtaking the slow people to catch up with all the boys :P. O yeah, Ian Harvey, your not supposed to read this bit, just forget everything we just said :D.
We left later that evening at 9pm to get onto the 10 hour nightbus all the way up to Airlie Beach where we finally got signal!!
Hope everyones okay
xxxxxxxx
