hey so we're all up in the air about the break in and we're off to Cape Tribulation ...the rainforest, so not much we were going to able to sort out from there!
Friday we arrived after going on yet another bus ride although this one did stop at a river in the rainforest! We stayed in little cabins next to Cape Tribulation Beach so we were away from all the other hostels pretty much on our own. There was nothing to do in the evening other than play board games (of course all of them Cerys' rules...eg where you get to swap scrabble tiles as a go!:P) so we'll challenge you all when we get home hehe.
In the day time we went ziplining through the rainforest canopy and got some of the best views where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. We also went to a bat house, on a regeneration forest walk, a rainforest boardwalk (still no sight of a cassowary despite what everyone tells us!! though we did see a feral pig and a snake) and then a 6km walk back to our accomodation along the beach which included wading across a croc infested creek and stopping for aaaggggeeeeeessss to look at butterflies. Guess whose idea all the walking was :P. Despite the walking we had a nice few relaxing days that were needed and continued in Port Douglas.
We arrived at Port Douglas on Sunday and again not much to do here so we went out for a late night garlic pizza. Didn't think the people in our room would like that one so brushed our teeth a few times when we got in hehe! Next day we went to Flight Centre to start looking at places to stay in Fiji. I had to leave for 20 minutes, that's all, and when I came back I was told that our budget had suddenly increased! haha but we are staying in an amazing four star resort on a small island just off Fiji and no kids on the island (we're already an old couple hehe). Then we went to the beach to try and tan up before losing it all in NZ so definitly don't worry about us being tanned when we come home, so don't worry Jo!
This was our last stop on our travels up the East Coast and we've had an amazing trip, but the adventure now continues, starting with a week of partying in Cairns woop!
Missing you all
P.s it's only 30 weeks and 2 days til christmas, yaaaaaay :) xx
