Hola!!

Bueno finalmenete puedo escribir algo positivo de Laos. Vang Vieng es un pueblo mas al norte. Estamos rodeados de unas rocas impresioanantes, los hosteles son mucho mas bonitos con unas vistas k te mueres y mucho mas limpios.

Ayer tomamos un bus de la capital con como 500 otras personas, gallinas, perros, sacos y sacos de arroz, y tres motos arriba, asi k como te imaginas fue interesante.

Me separaron de mi mochila pero recupere todo bien! Manana voy a empezar las avtividades. Hiremos a una cuevas donde la gente se escondia de los americanos en la guerra con vietnam y despues algo como rafting, pero bueno explico mas otro dia.

Anoche salimos, hay unos bares muy chulos, lleno de extranjeros pero bueno eso es comun. Bueno me voy a cenar!!

Alright guys!

Well guys I finaly have something positive to say about Laos.

This country is economically tiny compared to Thailand and you can tell. The capital is so modest and in my opinion lacks any charm, Ive been in poor countries before in central america but they do have charm.

The museum in the city is actually quite good, all funded by foreign aid obviously but it gives an excellent depiction of the history of Laos and how this country has been occupied & reoccupied by every superpower going in particular by the americans (is there anywhere they havent occupied & destroyed??) during the vietnam war. Of course Laos kicked their arses obviously & declared themselves a communist state. They are now reluctantly mind an independent republic, sorry im being boring but I quite like this stuff!!

As you can probably tell I really enjoyed the museum as I felt slightly ignorant about this country but anyway enough of the capital & the history lesson (wait till I get to Vietnam Im going to go on for ages!!!!!)

After 2 hideous nights, one in a dorm with a right weirdo we got on a bus crammed with loadsa people, tons of bags of rice & 3 mopeds loaded at the top we made it to Vang Vieng.

Its located along a river with limestone rock formations that are totally awesome, the views are stunning (see pic above & yes Im fully aware that I DO NOT look stunning!) That is literally outside my room!

This place is full of little food places with beds instead of chairs, so you're lying down whilst eating (heaven!!) & they play friends all day long, It s funny because we all like to think we're serious dedicated travellers but everyone is slumped down watching friends & eating hot baguettes!!

Last night we went out for a few bevvies & i swear my alcohol tolerance is back to non existence!! 3 SINGLE vodkas & i was totally pissed, oh dear Im going to have to toughen up in time for the islands!!

Tomorrow we're going to go tubing (not quite sure what that is but i'll let you know!) and we're going to explore caves. Im really interested in seeing the sleeping cave, where Laos' used to go & shield themselves from the american bombs.

Anyway guys a baguette & friends are calling me!!!
