I need to update properly from leaving Thailand, however as I am in Australia I am going to do this part now. We arrived in Singapore last Wednesday, where we met up with Jill and endured a very long journey over to the north of Queens Land. Not a great welcome to Australia as we are told to walk in single file along the wall, and are all checked out by a police dog, we then had all of our belongings searched. Got a little concerned about the yogurt I had in my bag, but apparently aero plane food is ok. We stepped out of the airport at about 9am and it was already a high 32 degrees, grabbed a cab to our hostel and then had a good look around. That evening we met up with some friends, a couple of Australians girls, who were totally nuts and then lots of others, was a really fun night... next day none of us felt that great. Especially Alex who decided to get his eyebrow pierced and nearly passed out about a block after having it done! he he That afternoon we went to the Lagoon, can't swim in the sea, number one not very nice water and 2 there are crocodiles, will give that one a miss... I found a great deal and got hair done, so much cheaper here love it! It was Friday night so in usual style headed out to the local club... god there are some funny people here, Pictures of Jill with a few of them, anyway there was an awful male stripper who we couldn't watch he was old and doing the most ridiculous dance moves. Not a really late one as early Saturday we headed up to Cape Tribulation. The journey was not so great, all feeling a little delicate again, we stopped at a number of places, stopped at the Dantree River and saw some crocodiles, my pictures do not do them justice, looks just like ripple in the water... but they were pretty big. Then we headed on and got our place to stay. First day we just hung out at the beach, couldn't swim here as there are jelly fish, which was rubbish as the water is so clear and inviting! Next day we decided to do a very long walk think it ended up being about 7miles round trip. We left early with our packed lunches, and walked for a good 2hours to get to a water hole where we could swim. This was awesome, saw snakes etc. The water was freezing and had lots of fish in, which we tried to catch with a make shift rode but they seemed to know went he bread was attached to the line! After the water hole, we went to find the beach, which was totally deserted, it was stunning. Alex wanted a coconut so climbed a tree and brought back tow, although they tasted awful, felt a bit bad as it took him about half and hour to get. We were all pretty tired but started the long walk home, thankfully a very kind couple pulled up and offered us a lift, could not have been more grateful!
On the journey back we stopped at some cool viewpoints and Port Douglas, it was really lovely here, could have stayed longer. Now in Cairns again for one night and then heading down to Mission Beach! May do some White Water Rafting should be really fun!
