Touristas
30C today but it doesn't reach that temperature until 7pm. We caught the city tour bus that has 2 routes around Madrid, each takes about 1.5 hours and we caught them in succession. They provide earphones and a commentary in a variety of languages. They use double-deck buses without a roof so you get a great view. We went to the Madrid Bull Ring, an impressive site and also around the city most of which we had seen on foot. We rode it back to Sol for lunch at a Museo de Jamon (yes, jamon=ham), but they would not take any money and our lunch was free.
This afternoon we went to the Prado Museum for a few hours and saw Goya, Titian, Raphael and many more masters. When we came out of the Museum the celebrations had begun .. Spain won the Soccer Euro 2012 Cup last night and they closed off the streets and set up a stage to entertain the fans and present the just arrived back home soccer team. We wandered up and took a look at the crowds and the atmosphere was amazing. The Spanish are all very patriotic! They all had the Spanish flag wrapped around themselves or carried a flag or wore the soccer jersey. They blow very noisy trumpets which are also red and the noise is deafening. Every time we turn on the TV the goals they scored are being replayed over and over. We ate locally at a bar around 10 p.m., watching the crowds returning down the Paseo Del Prado
Tomorrow, we head for Seville - getting warmer as we get closer to the equator - 37C expected there.
