Day 4 Sunday 1 July. We read the flea markets were worth a visit as they are on every Sunday but we didn't expect them to be quite as extensive as they were. By the time we wandered down one section we found ourselves at Ronda de Toledo so took the opportunity to pass by the Puerto de Toledo before going back to the antique market. Most of the markets were the same clothes, jewellery and leather goods, or cheap imported goods, so didn’t waste any more time there. Went on to Basilica of San Francisco of Grande on the site of St Francis of Assisi Monastery – later demolished. It was beautiful inside and being Sunday, a service was on. In the afternoon we wandered past the Prado Museum then down the Paseo del Prado taking in the fountains and facades of the buildings. We ventured back into the San Miguel Markets for tapas and a drink and did some shopping. Fresh pasta for dinner delish!
