Day 23 - Friday 20 July - 30 C. Our last day in Barcelona. We decided to take the gondola up to Montjuic which is where the Olympic Stadium, pool and diving took place in 1992. The route looked quite simple on the map however in reality we got lost and could not find the gondola to take us to the top, although we could see it passing by in the distance above us. Thursday 19 July - Barcelona 30C We caught the metro north to Lesseps which is near Park Guell. This is a large park on the side of a hill where Gaudi's house and garden is. Unfortunately when we arrived at the metro, we realised we didn’t have the Museum entry tickets with us so it was back to the apartment and another 92 step to climb to pick them up, an exhausting start to the day. Day 21 - Wednesday 18 July - Barcelona 30C. Today we set off for the Parc de la Ciutadella just east of where we are staying and found fabulous fountains, the Barcelona Zoo and the Catalunyan Parliament Buildings alongside the Park. There were lots of school groups, young couples and families enjoying the shady areas of the park. Tuesday 17 July - Barcelona - 30C and cloudless. We are up to get in the queues at Sagrada Familia before the rush starts. Caught the Metro up there, arriving at 8.30 a.m. to find only a 100m queue. Success!!! Monday 16 July 30C in Barcelona We set off to see the Sagrada Familia (Gaudi's Cathedral), When we arrived the queue was along the front from the gate to the corner then the whole length of the block then around the next corner and about ½ way down there (about 800m in total) and it did not appear to be moving.
