So, here we are in Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. We arrived here this afternoon from Rockhampton, our mid-way stop between Hervey Bay and Airlie. We didn't really do much with the rest of our time in Hervey Bay, just relaxed in the hostel, watched a bit of telly, caught up on Australian Big Brother! (sad I know). We even saw the comedian that we saw in Melbourne on a comedy programme, so we were very impressed! Rockhampton was a nice little stop but there wasn't really much to it - not much to report. We were there 2 nights, but we arrived late one night and left very early, so it was only one full day. We went to the Rocky Botanic Garden and Zoo - the zoo was quite cool, we managed to see the chimp feeding which was interesting! Apart from that, yet more lazing around I'm afraid, there wasn't really much else to do! We arrived in Airlie about 2pm, and we're trying to put photos on to our sites, but we're not having much luck! Think we might go and check out the lagoon instead....... We're here until Monday, when we're going on our sailing trip of the Whitsunday Islands. We're a bit concerned, everyone keeps telling us we're on the "party boat" so we're not quite sure what to expect! Although there's jelly wrestling in the hostel tonight so hopefully that's not a sign of things to come......!!!
