I booked a one day tour to Kanchanaburi, which is west of Bangkok. The main attractions that I wanted to see where the Floating Market and Tiger Temple. After a heavy night and only a few hours sleep, I managed to somehow get up for the 7am start! We headed to the Floating market, which was amazing - full of vibrant colours with ladies selling fruit, veg etc from their canal type boats. The next stop was the Allied War Cemetery, to remember the prisoners of war. Then on to a couple of museums (World War II and Jeath War) and then to the Kwai River Bridge also known as the Death Railway Bridge. Its not much to look at but has an exraordinary history. Then headed to Erawan Falls, which is this lovely waterfall where you can take a dip to cool off as its was 34degrees that day. Then finally we arrived at the Tiger Temple, which was amazing getting so close to the tigers. They were chained up so you felt safe...well kind of!! Met a couple of guys on the trip Greg and Jay from Devon, so spent the night in Bangkok with them...today they headed south to the islands and myself I have just arrived in Chiang Mai where I took the over night bus for 12hours.
