So... We arrived in Jaisalmer in the afternoon and continued driving for another hour where we reached the desert village. We arrived at a small organised safari with little huts for bedrooms. At around 5pm we set out on our camels through the dunes of the desert where we eventually settled down to watch the sunrise which was beautiful! The camels carried us bak to the safari camp where we ate a traditional Indian meal and some men sang and played music, which was great! We slept outside under the stars. I couldn't believe how many shorting stars there were. It was beautiful! In the morning we had breakfast at the camp and headed back to jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is also known as the 'golden city' as it is in the desert and all the bricks are a golden sandy colour. As soon as we arrived we jumped straight into the hotels pool (a first out of the other hotels we had stayed in). We relaxed in the morning and in the afternoon had a tour around the famous fort of jaisalmer, where hundreds of people still live today! The people here are particular talented at patchwork and you can see a lot of that around the city. Also, silver jewellery is very popular and is sent from Pakistan where jewellers here make the jewellery by hand. We then visited a massage parlour where we had head massage pedicures and henna! We then had dinner at the hotels rooftop restaurant which was nice but still extremely hot.
