The whole Caravan of Courage did a Historic Brothel tour this afternoon. the oldest surviving ( still operating) brothel in Kalgoorlie.
Very entertaining and enlightening, a lot of money made by some.
the boys did the superpit mine tour ( see attached photo) and the girls wandered around town. the hotels in town are just beautiful, 4 on one intersection, one built in 1897, 1898, 1899 and 1895. Stunning buildings all redecorated and lots of iron lace work on the balconies. Inside we saw a staue of Ned kelly, then what we thought was a replica miner but it turned out to be a real man reading the racing guide.
The boys saw our caravans mate in a dump, according to Mr B it was in better condition and perhaps we should swap it. After demanding to see this imposter of the Caravan of Courage I report it is in far worse condition than ours. Ours may need a little clean as its covered in red bull dust but it is well loved, it lives to see another day.
For those asking "who is Uncle Arthur" who has been contributing his own memories of trips in the region long long ago. Well he is the original Uncle Arthur is all ways. My favorite and only uncle and 99 years old to boot.
I am glad that I can follow in some of his footsteps and enable him to relive his memories of his trips. I learned something from his comments. The reticence to go underground apparently is hereditary.
