Visited the Rock at sunrise this morning. Had to crawl out of bed at 6.00am freezing cold. Hundreds and hundreds at the viewing area. Realised sunset was the best view so back to van for late breakast gathered Mr & Mrs M and then back to visit the cultural centre do a base walk (short one) saw cave paintings.

Mr M comment - Got the washing donewhile fellow travellers watched sunrise. The rock looks like it has a bad case of dandruff. Can we do a drive by the airport.

There is a real sense of peace here something quiet and restful seems to be the prevailing atmosphere. No birds, flies or animals to be seen. Mr B and mrs M drove the car to other end of walk. Returned to find Mr B half way well 1/4 way up the rock. Then he decided to do the short walk. Drove out to the Olgas ( Kata Tjuta) and did the Walpa Gorge walk, Flies returned at the Olga's.

Mrs M comment of the day - walked 2km - I'm tired can't do that every day.

Mr B comment of the day - Up before dawn to see th efirst sunlight on th elarge rock. Have just thawed out. Found another little rock garden with a pond 44 km up the road.(olga's) This ine only needed a large shovel to construct. Mr B has a ***zxwxy**? sore back. So trying for the thousandth time to fix his car seat. " I can take it apart in 3 minutes now."
