Happy Canada Day!!
The Hotel had a wonderful free breakfast, so we filled our tummies as much as we could.
We walked to the store to get some transit passes, got on a double decker and checked out the sights on the way to our first stop near The Tower of London.
We made a detour near St. Bartholomews Hospital to see the site of William Wallace's execution. There is only a small plaque on the wall of the hospital to mark the site.
Onward to the Tower Of London! Building started in 1066. It has been used for many purposes over the years as a prison and royal residence.
We walked from the Tower up to Picadilly, down the River Thames to see Big Ben, and the over to Buckingham Palace.
It was a long day, with lots of walking (One of us wore the wrong shoes and ended up with dead feet!). Back to the hotel to get a good nights sleep.
Off to Chillingham castle in the morning! oooOOOooo
