Quito feels like a whole different city to Argentina. It is a little more soft and fluffy, not quite as raw. A city though is still a city where ever you go!! We suffered a little from altitude sickness when we arrived. Pete got a couple of bad headaches and Caroline had an increased appetite which is typical because really it should have been the reverse!! All our toiletries exploded because they had been packed at high pressure and opened at low pressure - amusing but messy! The hotel was lovely and we had our first hot shower since leaving Santiago!! Before we left for the Amazon our tour guide took us out to a night club called No Bar which was loads of fun. We were dancing latino style and got free drinks!! At one point we thought the police had raided the place because two large men in uniform came in and marched up to the stage. We soon clocked that they weren't authentic though when they started taking their uniforms off! Pete's face was a picture he found it very funny however!! Anyway staying in Equador a little longer but off to the jungle next!!
